What does this mean?

The Canadian and USA border is a political barrier, but not a human one. The closer to the border you live, the more this becomes self-evident and a part of our reality. Family ties are common across the border. Friendships straddle both sides. Business relationships flourish with each other and are stronger together.

Attempts have been made to break these bonds for political gain in recent times, but the reality is Canadians and Americans welcome each other. The bonds on both sides were formed before the countries even existed as legal entities, because they were human bonds.

What is this campaign for?

This campaign is to signify that although politicians and media might employ language and tactics to divide us, the people that actually live and work near the border want more than ever to be united. We, as Canadians, want our American friends to know they are welcome here.
